Nervous patients dentist Glenrothes

I'm nervous about dentistry

Tell us what worries you. We will take things at your pace.

TALK TO OUR TEAM

Feeling anxious about the dentist is common. Some people worry about pain, some about feeling out of control, and some have had a difficult visit years ago. At North Street Dental in Glenrothes we would rather hear that honestly than pretend everyone finds dentistry easy.

When you book, mention that you are nervous. We can allow extra time, explain each step before it happens, and agree a stop signal so you stay in control. You will not be judged for needing a slower appointment.

What helps many patients

  • A clear explanation of what we plan to do and why
  • Time to ask questions without being hurried
  • Breaking treatment into smaller visits if that feels better
  • A calm reception and surgery environment

Dr Faheem Haider has additional training in dental sedation. If sedation might be appropriate, that is a clinical discussion after we understand your health and the treatment needed — it is not assumed for every anxious patient.

First visit

You do not have to commit to a full course of treatment on day one. Many nervous patients start with a conversation and an examination, then decide the next step at home.
